So you want to TTS?...

Tabletop Simulator is a "game" available on the Steam gaming platform, and is at its heart just what it says: it simulates a physical tabletop in a virtual environment. So at its core, Tabletop Simulator is a "physics engine" with a few core features that allow you to simulate and manipulate objects on a tabletop. It also gives you a head start by providing you with dozens or hundreds of game objects and elements right out of the box.

Part 1: Install Steam

Once you have installed Steam, launch it and log in when prompted. You will want to make note of your Steam user name so that you can provide this to your friends.

Part 2: Install Tabletop Simulator

When you launch Tabletop Simulator, you will automatically be logged into it using your Steam account, and your friends and other players will find and identify you using your Steam user name.

The first time you launch Tabletop Simulator you will be prompted to complete a brief(ish) tutorial. Do so. The key to enjoying games with your friends using TTS is to get comfortable using the basic functions of TTS.

Part 3: Install Discord

You will want to make a note of your Discord User Name so that you can provide this to your friends to more easily get connected on Discord. Your Discord User Name is usually a name followed by a pound sign (#) and some number... such as Chayste#1345

Part "All Parts": Be Patient

Each of these technologies in and of themselves can be esoteric and "quirky" (and downright frustrating) for novice technology users, and even for veteran technology users who are not reasonably acquainted with these common gaming and communication platforms. This is where deep breaths, lowered expectations, and loving support from your friends will come in handy...and maybe a drinkie-poo or two, if you are so inclined.
